Sharon (Osmundsen) Lehmann

Sharon Lee Lehmann ObituaryMADISON / New Glarus – Sharon Lee Lehmann, age 82, of New Glarus, passed away after a courageous fight against major medical struggles on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at New Glarus Home. She was born on November 16, 1942, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Glen and Virginia (Haight) Osmundsen.

Sharon graduated from Wisconsin High School in 1960. On June 10, 1967, she married the Love of her life, Marlin Lehmann, in Madison, WI. They raised two daughters and one son in the same home they bought just before the birth of their first daughter. Living in the same home for 57+ years their neighbors became extended Family. Sharon and Marlin’s longevity provided stability and comfort to their neighbors.

Prior to retirement, Sharon worked as a bookkeeper / file clerk for Harders Paper Company, Physicians Plus and the Department of Revenue. Sharon helped raise Dwight Johnson when she worked as an in-home caregiver to daycare children, many are still friends today. Dwight is a special friend to the Family and was like a second son to Sharon and Marlin.

Sharon loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved taking long walks with Marlin and chatting with all the neighbors along the way. She loved going to stock car races with her husband, especially when they got to travel. She also really looked forward to our annual Family & Friends Memorial Day Motorcycle Ride each May, with this being our 30th year. Her presence will be greatly missed!

She loved taking pictures of everything, especially family at every event, no matter how small. She was well known for her bright and welcoming smile, and warm hugs, but mostly for her finger Jello at every family birthday party or gathering. She will also be remembered for her beautiful artwork and creativity she added to cards for special occasions, her beautiful penmanship, excellent bookkeeping skills, and labeling everything in great detail, including their yearly favorite strawberry jam and corn she and Marlin made.

Sharon enjoyed sewing and scrapbooking. She had quite a talent for making dresses for herself and her daughters. She also liked to sew to improve the quality and fit of store-bought clothing. It had to be just right. Her way always was best.

Sharon, along with Marlin, her beloved husband of almost 58 years, were committed members to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1967.

Her faith in her personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was extremely important to her. Knowing this helped to comfort us as she made her final journey Home.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Marlin; daughters, Sherry (Gary Kleven) Payne and Carolyn (Sigmund) Olson; son, Brian (Keri) Lehmann; grandchildren, Taylor (Nathan) Moe, Tyler (Katelynn) Payne, Alden (Katherine) Olson, Hunter (Brooke) Payne, Brendan Olson, Aleaha Payne and Riya Lehmann; great-grandchildren, Logan Payne, Luke Payne and Brecken Moe; sisters, twin sister, Karen (Dale) Ihm, and Gail (Robert) Lehmann; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Elizabeth Brantmeyer, Roberta Miller and Mona Scott; and brother, Monty Osmundsen.

A funeral service will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1701 McKenna Blvd., Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, with the Rev. Caleb Bassett presiding. The entombment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. A luncheon will follow entombment at the church. Visitation will be held at Gunderson Fitchburg Funeral and Cremation Care, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, and also at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

*Sharon’s favorite colors were teal, aqua and turquoise. She wasn’t a fan of black. The family would like to request in honor of Sharon you try and wear one of her favorite colors to the visitation/funeral.
