Michael Patrick Mackin, 64, of 1623 N. 28th St., Sheboygan, passed away Friday, January 19, 2007, at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Michael was born March 23, 1942 in Milwaukee to the late Edward and Harriet (Newman) Mackin. He attended schools in the Madison area and graduated from Wisconsin High School. He was a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. He married Karen Mackin, she preceded him in death. On May 23, 1987 he married Jill (Swanson) Nisleit in Port Washington.

Michael worked in various positions in the printing business for many years. He owned and operated Harbor Printing in Port Washington. He later moved to Sheboygan and retired in 1999. He belonged to Sheboygan Elk’s BPO Lodge 299. Prior to becoming disabled and wheelchair bound, he enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping. He was a super fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Wisconsin Badgers, and the Milwaukee Brewers. He kept himself active with gardening, home improvement projects, and his family.

In addition to his wife Jill, Michael is survived by his sons Sean and Ryan Macklin, his step-daughter Tamara (Paul) Slife of Virginia, and a grandson Fox Slife. He is also survived by his brother Dan Mackin and special friend Linda Batz of Cross Plains, WI, and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Sharon Strauss, and his brother Kevin Mackin.

A memorial service will be held for Michael on Wednesday, January 24th at 1:00 P.M. at Zimmer’s Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ Howards Grove), the Reverend Gregory Whelton, Pastor of St. John’s United Church of Christ will officiate. Friends may call on Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
