We have moved about since finishing school at UW Med School.  Air Force internship in Mississippi, Residency in Texas, then Air Force Anesthesia practice in California and Mississippi.

Left Service in 1975 and worked at the Gundersen Clinic in LaCrosse until 1979.  Solo Practice 1979-1990 in Grinnell, Iowa. Then Anesthesia Practice at Creighton University from 1990-1999. Retired from the Air Force Reserve in 2002.

Worked at a Springfield, Missouri medical center for 5 years, then  three days a week in a community hospital in Lebanon Missouri the last 3 years.  We have been retired for 3 years and live in a small resort community on the Lake of the Ozarks.

We enjoy boating and other lake activities, have recently traveled to Europe and South America.  We also travel to Tampa, Omaha and DesMoines regularly to visit our children.  We have 7 grandchildren.  I have a woodworking shop, like to fish a little, and we both enjoy bicycling when we get the opportunity.  We collect and drink a few wines.  Sometimes too many.

Life has been good to the Olson Family.  Wisconsin High was a great place to be in the late 50’s. I don’t remember any classic stories nor have I seen anyone over the years because I was never around the Madison area at the right time.  Just drifters, I guess.

We get to Madison occasionally in that my sister still lives on Lake Waubesa (Laurine, WHS 1956?)  My father died in 2010 at the age of 92.

Greetings to everyone.

Here is an update.  Quite brief.

In 2017, we moved from the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri to Tampa Florida.  Our plan was to spend winters there, near family, and to spend our summers in Iowa, also near family.  Within a year, my wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and we became permanent residents in Florida.  I began a new career for which I was not trained.  Caregiver.  I found that I still can learn from my mistakes.  In 2024, Susan passed peacefully.

In the last year, I have done some traveling, hosted a few visitors and am adjusting to a new lifestyle.  Other than some medical issues that we seniors all have, I am well and looking forward to tomorrow and several more trips around the sun. There are many beautiful places on this earth that I still haven’t seen.
